Axel Loughrey

Alternative / Rock / Blues
Born and raised in Paris, Axel picked up his first guitar at age 8 and wrote his first song at age 14. He relocated to the UK in 2004 to pursue a career in music, and has been involved with it in some way or another ever since.

Axel’s first notable accomplishment came in 2006 when he joined rock band Ruby Red Lips. As frontman of the band, Axel spent almost two years touring extensively before taking the decision to pursue his own material full time in 2008.

His first year as a solo artist saw Axel chosen out of 70,000 applicants to appear on Orange Unsigned Act 2008 and subsequently catch the attention of the BBC’s Jo Whiley. One of just 70 to make it through to this stage of the competition, Axel was interviewed on Channel 4 and performed his material live on national TV.

Axel’s raw, talent-filled and distinctive musical style has already resulted in comparisons with bands such as Eels, Counting Crows and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He has self-released two EPs so far – ‘Small Town, Small People’ and ‘Galloway Hill’ – and performed to great acclaim at venues in London and across the East of England.

With a myriad of high profile gigs and festival appearances already secured, and a range of music industry professionals taking a keen interest in his music, Axel’s profile is definitely on the rise for 2010.

Melody & The Boytoys

Electronica / Live Electronics / Pop
I am a dynamic singer-songwriter that fuses back to basics pop with a pechant for grandiose electronica and disco. My unique swagger brings back pop music with a brazen dance/disco influence with humour, soul and a nod to the dance floor!

I am currently performing live with my hot band around london to show that pop music isn,t all about X-Factor cover versions and souless showcases- but great live music! My sound and voice is a refreshing change to the current blandness and vacant pop tarts of the curent chart.

My influences are 80's heroes of David Bowie, Prince, Queen, George Michael, Duran Duran,Michael Jackson....the list is endless. My favourite current artists are Robyn, Madonna, Roisin Murphy, Hot Chip and anything catchy, clever and good to boogie with!!

'Boytoy' Garage remix by Dj Beckett was released on vinyl in 2005 and was a underground hit with support from True fm, Shine, Freeze, Ice Cold ,Phatbeats, Subjam and Radio1 Extra with the Bassline remix. Its original electro mix was first premiered in Ibiza, and its vinyl was a limited edition sold in Mambos. 'Love 1 Day' was released on vinyl by myself in August 2008 with a Bassline house remix by R1 .It was also supported by pirate radio station was officially released lby Axis Trax with additional remixes via a digital download. www.axistrax.com

Please get in touch if you like what you hear, unless you are some svengali producers or shifty promoters.....!!

Chirs Burke's Meretricious Pop Ensemble

Folk Rock
In 2008, bumbling scientists created a tear in spacetime, through which fell three automatomic beings known as Bass, Keys and Drums. Feeling isolated, vulnerable and terrified, they wandered only with the darkened protection of night, searching for nourishment.

They eventually happened upon the most amazing sound they had ever heard, and were instantly bewitched by the resonance of it. The source of this heavenly timbre was none other than Chris Burke, and the aliens instantly and permanently linked themselves to his psyche. This new legion of minds was known as Chirs Burke's Meretricious Pop Ensemble!

Edmund Jeffery

Acoustic / Indie / Rock
Edmund Jeffery is an acoustic singer/songwriter from North London who has been gigging locally for around 3 years and is looking to expand his growing fan base. From a young age his funk inspiration mixed with his love for acoustic writing has landed him performances at 'BBC Radio Theatre' London, 'The Roundhouse' Camden, and most recently ' The Indigo o2' with his band 'Indecisive'.

He enjoys playing music in any environment and with anyone who shares his passion. He recently recorded a selection of his original songs, which have been described as 'remarkable, full of superb harmonies and hooks', and he will be showcasing these at ' The Live Room'.

He hopes you enjoy the sounds of 'Acoustic Presence' and are tempted to purchase the album when released in the coming months.
